Step into the magical world of CATS Young Actors Edition, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s record-breaking, award-winning musical, brought to life by more than 150 amazingly talented rangatahi from across the Waikato.

Based on T.S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, this spectacular 60-minute adaptation is a dazzling fusion of music, dance and verse, created especially for a new generation of performers and audiences.

On one extraordinary night each year, all Jellicle cats gather for the legendary Jellicle Ball. One by one, they share their stories, dreams and personalities with their wise and benevolent leader, Old Deuteronomy. At the end of the evening, he will make the Jellicle Choice - selecting one special cat to ascend to the Heaviside Layer and begin a whole new Jellicle life.

Featuring Andrew Lloyd Webber’s unforgettable score, breathtaking choreography, stunning costumes and, of course, the iconic ‘Memory’, CATS is a theatrical experience like no other.

First performed in 1981, CATS has since captivated audiences around the globe, being presented in more than 30 countries, translated into 15 languages and seen by more than 73 million people worldwide.
